This is the last ‘hard’ session we’ll run before Conference…but truthfully, for most of our team this is just more preparation for the Regional Championships which are coming up in three weeks.
Men:
6 x 1 mile w/ 60 seconds rest. Goal is to start at 5:24/mile pace and cut down 8 seconds per mile…5:24, 5:16, 5:08, 5:00, 4:52, 4:44.
Women:
5 x 1 mile w/ 60 seconds rest. Goal is to start at 6:24/mile pace and cut down 8 seconds per mile…6:24, 6:16, 6:08, 6:00, 5:52.
We’ll also have some variations of this workout for our younger runners…
They’ll do 3-4 x 1 mile with the older runners and then break up the rest of the workout into 800 meter reps…same point…trying to continue cutting down.
