Ups and Downs

Running is a series of Ups and Downs.

I think we often forget that.

This weekend I witnessed some big UPS. And even with those big UPS, there were some DOWNS. And you know, that’s just how it goes! Will I still drive myself crazy trying to figure out why one person set a PR and the other did not? Yes. But in the end I know that running is no perfect science.

You can do everything perfectly and have the worst performance imaginable; and there are times when you can do everything wrong and run faster than you ever have. Do I have the explanation for it? NO.

But I do know that I love this sport and the UPS definitely make all of the hard work worth it…and while we don’t like the DOWNS, they help us appreciate the UPS.
