Learning From the Greats — Donnie Phillips

Donnie Phillips is my dad and he is the Hull-Daisetta high school record holder for the the mile with his time of 4:40.8. He was the 1977 District Champion in the mile and once told me that you need to be sweating after your warm up to know that you are ready to race.

I don’t know that you actually need to be sweating, but it just goes to show you that you need to take your warm up serious and you need to be ready before lining up and racing.
