Stop floating…

move. now.

Stop floating and START MOVING.

My biggest regret with my own running career is that I just floated through. Its’ funny, I was looking through old facebook photos, trying to find a racing picture to use for my GTTC Elite photo, and I saw several years worth of racing photos. Different jerseys, different shoes, different distances, different coaches, different levels of fitness and preparedness…

For 10 years of post-collegiate running I was just floating. One year I was going to be a great miler. I spent the entire season focused on running fast 800 meters and 1500 meters and mile races. I set a personal best. That didn’t satisfy me.

I moved to the half marathon. I set a personal best. That didn’t satisfy me.

I moved back to the track and the 5000 meters. That didn’t satisfy me.

I moved to the full marathon. I walked. That didn’t satisfy me.

Back to the 5000 meters. I set a personal best. That didn’t satisfy me.

Back to the half marathon. I set a personal best. That didn’t satisfy me.

And on and on and on…you get the point. I WAS FLOATING.

I should have been MOVING. Moving toward something specific. Moving toward something special. Moving toward my potential.

I changed coaches and goals like underwear.

I was floating.

I SHOULD HAVE BEEN MOVING.

Are you floating right now, when you should be MOVING? If so, I would love to help you.
