If you have seen the sights from the NCAA Division I and III Championships this past weekend then you saw what most people would call ‘true XC’…we had the opportunity to experience a little of that ourselves with a trip to Denver, Colorado for our Regional Championships.
We were faced with 26 degree temps that felt like 17 degrees and a mist / rain that froze jerseys and jackets mid-race. It was one of the most miserable days, weather-wise, that I can ever remember being part of. It was for sure one of the absolute worst experiences, weather-wise, that I can remember as a coach or athlete.
But, as they say, this is ‘true XC’ and you still have to show up and take care of business.
We did not do as well as we would have wanted and we’ll get back to work on that.
