What a great start to our 2018 XC season!!!
Both our men’s and women’s teams took the wins in dominating fashion…our ladies took the top-11 places, while the men went 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 6th, and 7th!

The DBU Men’s & Women’s Cross Country teams each opened the 2018 season with victories at the Orville Rogers XC Opener at the Mansfield Sports Complex on Saturday. The Men’s squad opened the action by winning the 8k race with a score of 17 points, while the Women’s team totaled 15 points in the 5k.
On the men’s side, DBU’s Andrew Curry set a meet record with a time of 24:53 and a first place finish. Stetson Rayas followed in second place, finishing just 5.6 seconds behind Curry. Trent Phelps and Ivan Hernandez finished in third and fifth place respectively, while Matthew Hahn (6th) and Matthew Torvik (7th) rounded out the top eight.
The Lady Patriots were led by last year’s Heartland Conference Runner of the Year Hannah Moore, who crossed the finish line with a first place time of 18:07.5. Joining Moore in the top five were Leah Lewis (2nd), Danielle Rimann (3rd) Denae Chapman (4th), and Analynne Klotz (5th). DBU’s Rita Vogt, Martha Brown, Marissa Insinna and Jenna Thorman rounded out the top ten.
