Learning From the Greats — Bill Bowerman

There is no finish line.

— Bill Bowerman

When I was in high school there was a Nike running shirt with this quote on it. I loved that shirt; it was by far my go-to athletic tee in those days.

And at the time, I probably had no idea what it meant, it was just a cool shirt. But now, I see what it means, at least to me.

There is no finish line. One performance or accomplishment begets the next.

Rival shoe company Mizuno had a saying, “Never settle.”

Well, that is what Bowerman is saying here…never settle. There is no finish line.
