Trent Phelps, February 2017

The collegiate track season is tough…I don’t care what anyone says, having to manage training, travel, and racing for college-aged students from January through June (for some) is tough.

In our program we believe in spending nearly two-thirds of the season building our strength (aerobically)…and so balancing that with an Indoor Season is always tough, so one of the ways that I try to manage it is by having strength workouts that progress to race pace or faster speeds at the end.

This session for Trent was done six days before he set a school record in the 3000 meters and just under two weeks out from him winning the Distance Medley Relay, Mile and finishing as runner-up at the NCCAA Championships.
