I have never been the biggest fan of Emil Zatopek…mainly because I don’t know a lot about him. He’s a runner from the generation before where my running intelligence started; most of my education starts with Lydiard in 1960 and carries on forward.
But the stories I’ve heard about Emil have intrigued me. He was such a tiny man, with such strength, and the stories of his ability to run past pain…Well, it convinced me to buy his biography, “Today, we die a little!”
Maybe I’ll have more to share about this legend after finishing his biography.
