Learning From the Greats — Desi Linden

122nd Boston Marathon

I am sticking with the Desi-theme this week after she ran away in gale-forced winds and near-freezing temps at the Boston Marathon (to be the first American woman to win since 1985)…

I actually used a quote from Desi earlier this spring at one of my team meetings…

She said, “Some days it just flows and I feel like I’m born to do this, other days it feels like I’m trudging through hell. Every day I make the choice to show up and see what I’ve got, and to try and be better. My advice: keep showing up.”

Obviously Desi took her own advice…this was her 6th Boston Marathon and her first time winning. Sometimes you just have to keep showing up.
